Modi's popularity grew rapidly, and in 2013, he was declared the BJP's candidate for the Prime Ministerial election. In May 2014, he won a landslide victory, becoming the 14th Prime Minister of India. Since taking office, Modi has launched several initiatives aimed at boosting economic growth and development, including the "Make in India" campaign, which encourages businesses to manufacture their products in India.

Modi's government has also launched several social welfare schemes aimed at improving the lives of India's poor and marginalized communities. These include the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, a campaign to clean up India's streets and public spaces, and the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, a scheme to provide financial inclusion to all households in India

Modi has been praised for his foreign policy initiatives, including strengthening India's ties with other countries, particularly in the Indo-Pacific region.
